French Polynesia...FAAA, I.D. NTAA

Description:

This is my Tahiti version 2 scenery which has been adapted to work in FS2004. There were a few issues with the illuminated palms, and some scale problems with the baggage carts and sail boats. Everything has been repaired here, and the scenery now works beautifully in FS2004. It even looks better with the new autogen city of Papeete now extending up into the hills behind the airport. Frame rates are also better with 2004 even with autogen maxed out. The terrain mesh for French Polynesia by Rolf Keibel and John Applegate for CFS2 also works great in FS2004.

Installation:

1. Extract the zip into your main FS2004 Addon Scenery folder, or into a temporary folder, and then move it there, which ever method you prefer.

2. Start up FS2004 and when the welcome screen, or initial menu comes on, select settings, then click on Scenery Library, and Add Area. Find the Addon Scenery folder and open it, then find the Tahiti 2004 folder and click on it. The name Tahiti 2004 should now appear in the title window, then click OK. Then you will see Tahiti 2004 at the top of your scenery library list, and click the OK tab at the bottom.

3. That's it! The installation proceedure is the same in FS2004, but you no longer do it from within the program, so you cannot be at the airport to see it transform into your new scenery which is something I always liked to do.

Sea Plane airport location:

If you take off from the main Tahiti airport, and head around the island you will find a break towards the center of the island with a cove in it. The sea plane airport is located within this cove, and is complete with night lighting for those tour flights which have run a little longer than expected. You will also find several tour busses in the parking lot waiting to take your passengers to their designated hotels, or they can stay at the beautiful Seabreeze hotel adjacent to the sea plane airport. Marker lights in the bay are now red on one side, and green on the other which makes navigation much easier. I have also redone the seaplane piers to make it much easier to dock seaplanes here.

Notes:

This is my first scenery for FS2004, and I will be installing each of my scenery areas on a one by one basis, and making any adjustments needed. Then they will be released for FS2004.

Credits:

Kevin Sparkhul for custom making the Tahiti airport sign overlooking the tarmac.

Gerd Winterfeld for his great Coconut palm collection.

John de Langristin for his wonderful Bamboo Textures which enabled me to create several of the structures, especially at the sea plane base, and for his great new car parks used here for my first time. I would also like to thank John for custom making the Tahiti airport sign which shows on top of the terminal over the parking lot.

Mike Wallace for his best static aircraft.

John Vrbanac for his helipads that I used at the sea base.

Robert Palmer for his tropical trees which I use every where all of the time!

Rafael Garcia Sanchez, who's Nova program and textuers were used to create much of this airport.
